Lime Rock Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Lime Rock is a tiny 5.5 acre vineyard in the Central Hawke's Bay region of New Zealand. This vineyard is planted on limestone soils, hence the name. When owners Rosie and Roger planted their vines, they discovered giant fossilized oyster shells in the earth, some bigger than your hand! New Zealand is known for their 'Savvy' but this one is special.

The limestone soils lend a unique minerality rarely found in New World wines. It also allows the flavor profile to move away from the green-tinged, fresh jalapeño style that NZ is known for, and reveal a vibrant florality and chalky mineral expression. If you are a drinker of Sancerre, this wine is for you. A perfect wine to guzzle or contemplate, whatever you're in the mood for!
